Who Can Apply for Admission
Virtual University welcomes all candidates who meet the minimum academic requirements for their desired program. To be eligible for admission, applicants must fulfill the specific criteria published on the official VU website for each study program.

Additional Documents for Credit Transfer Applicants
If you are applying for credit transfer or course exemption through the General Route, you must also provide:
- Detailed Course Contents/Syllabus from your previous institution
- Original No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your previous university
- Original Incomplete Result Card or Transcript

Application Timeline and Submission
- Admission Schedule: Applications open according to the published admission calendar available on the VU website.
- Deadline Compliance: Forms submitted after the closing date will not be considered under any circumstances.
- CNIC Accuracy: Double-check your CNIC number during registration signup to prevent automatic rejection.
Document Upload Instructions
- Follow the specific instructions provided in the registration interface for each document type.
- Ensure all uploaded files are clear, complete, and properly formatted.
- Incomplete applications will be automatically rejected without notification.
- Upload documents in the correct file format and size as specified in the system.
Multiple Program Applications
Current Students Re-applying
If you are already enrolled at Virtual University with regular or inactive status, you must officially cancel your previous admission before submitting a new application or marking yourself as pass-out.
Information Accuracy and Consequences
- Your admission will be permanently cancelled
- All fees paid will be confiscated
- You will be blacklisted from future admissions
- If already graduated, your degree will be revoked
Result Awaiting Applicants (HSSC/Intermediate)
Students who are waiting for their Part-II or final HSSC/Intermediate results can apply provisionally based on their Part-I results, subject to specific conditions.

Provisional Admission Conditions
- Automatic cancellation of admission
- Fee refund according to university policy
- Possible blocking of LMS access
Hard Copy Document Submission
Result-awaiting students must submit the following documents in hard copy before class commencement (October 06, 2025):
- Two complete sets of attested educational documents
- Two copies of CNIC or B-Form
- Two passport-size photographs (blue background)
- Equivalence certificates (if applicable for A/O Level students)
Submission Options:
- Drop off at your nearest Virtual University Campus, OR
- Courier directly to: Admission Office, Virtual University of Pakistan, Sir Syed Memorial Building, G-5/1, Ataturk Avenue, Islamabad
Merit-Based Programs
Certain programs at Virtual University have limited seats and follow a competitive merit-based selection process.
Programs with Merit-Based Admission
- MS Computer Science (MSCS)
- MBA (Equivalent to MS)
Selection Process
- Entry Test: Candidates must pass the VU Entry Test with a minimum score of 50%
- Interview: Qualified candidates will be called for a personal interview
The final merit list will be published on the VU website according to the admission schedule. Selected candidates must deposit their fees within the specified deadline to confirm their admission.
Programs Not Available for Overseas Applicants
- MS Computer Science
- MBA (Equivalent to MS)
- BS Bioinformatics
- BS Biotechnology
- BS Zoology
- Diploma in Molecular Biology
- Diploma in Bioinformatics
Programs Without Zero Semester Option
Zero Semester is NOT applicable for the following programs:
- MS Computer Science / MBA (Equivalent to MS)
- BS English (Applied Linguistics)
- All Computing Programs (BSCS, BSIT, BSSE, BS Data Science)
- All ADP Computing Programs
- BS Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Zoology, Mathematics
- All Diploma Programs (Linguistics, ELT, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics)
- ADP Education
Course Exemption Information
Virtual University offers course exemption opportunities for students who have previously completed relevant coursework at recognized institutions.
Eligibility for Course Exemption (General Route)
You can apply for course exemption if you fall into any of the following categories:
Required Documents for Course Exemption
Applicants must submit the following in hard copy format at the time of admission:
- Course Exemption Proforma: Completely filled application form
- Original NOC: No Objection Certificate from your previous institution
- Original Incomplete Transcript: Issued by the relevant authority
- Course Contents/Syllabus: Detailed outlines of all courses for which exemption is requested
BS Lateral Entry Route
Students who have completed Associate Degrees, Bachelor’s degrees (BA/BSc/BCom), or other relevant qualifications can join BS programs through the lateral entry route.
Eligibility for BS Lateral Entry
You can apply through lateral entry if you have completed:
- Associate Degree Program (ADP) from VU or other HEC-recognized institution
- Traditional Bachelor’s degrees (BA, BSc, BCom)
- Other BS degree programs

Document Submission Guidelines for Provisionally Admitted Students
All provisionally admitted students must submit hard copies of their admission documents to complete the admission process.

- Educational Documents: Two complete sets of attested copies of all certificates and mark sheets
- CNIC/B-Form: Two photocopies of your national identity card
- Photographs: Two recent passport-size photos with blue background
- Equivalence Certificates: For A/O Level students (if applicable)
- Previous Degree Documents: Two copies of transcripts/result cards from:
- ADP/BA/BSc (if applicable)
- BS/Master’s degree (if applicable)
